Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a safe, natural, drug-free and effective way to restore health. Acupuncture helps to activate the natural, self-healing abilities of the body, and strengthen and support the body to prevent future illness and disease.
The 1997 National Institute of Health (NIH) Consensus on Acupuncture reported that the physiological effects of acupuncture are due to multiple biological responses that are mediated by sensory neurons that affect the Central and Peripheral nervious systems. The NIH also suggests that acupuncture may activate the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus affecting the secretion of neurotransmitters and hormones, and causes changes in the regulation of blood flow and alterations in immune functions.
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO), Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has proven effective in the treatment of the following common conditions:
Addictions - drugs, smoking, alcohol Irritable Bowel Syndrome Anxiety Low Back Pain Arthritis Menopause Bronchitis Migraine Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Morning Sickness Chronic Fatigue Nausea Colitis Osteoarthritis Common Cold Pain Constipation Pneumonia Dental Pain Reproductive Problems Depression Rhinitis Diarrhea Sciatica Digestive trouble Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Dizziness |

Lifestyle Advice
Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractor will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.

Yoga
Gentle Yoga Class consist helping us feel grounded and graceful once again. It will leave you feeling grounded and connected with your whole self, body and mind. Emphasizing on relaxation as well as awareness of tension. Focus will be on resting in the pose with deep breathing that will aid in developing the physical health and help calm the system. One must never strain or use force to reach the prescribed position.
Does Yoga poses help relief joint and muscle aches?
Performed correctly, yoga's fluid movements allow swollen or otherwise painful joints to glide smoothly over one another, increasing mobility and strength without excess wear and tear. Yoga is a safe alternative to weight-bearing exercises that could worsen weak joints because it strengthens the muscles around them, which reduces tension and increases mobility.

There is a saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your spinal health is no exception. Posture and spinal screenings by a trained and experienced chiropractor such as Dr. Roberto Morales can help reveal important health information, unlocking the door to improved health and well-being. In order to help the Downey community, we provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today at 562-622-4444 to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.
X-Ray Studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions.
