Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a safe, natural, drug-free and effective way to restore health. Acupuncture helps to activate the natural, self-healing abilities of the body, and strengthen and support the body to prevent future illness and disease.
The 1997 National Institute of Health (NIH) Consensus on Acupuncture reported that the physiological effects of acupuncture are due to multiple biological responses that are mediated by sensory neurons that affect the Central and Peripheral nervious systems. The NIH also suggests that acupuncture may activate the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus affecting the secretion of neurotransmitters and hormones, and causes changes in the regulation of blood flow and alterations in immune functions.
